Mexican dishes, mariachi band spice up St. Cecilia’s Lenten fish fries
The fish fry may be a staple of the St. Louis area Lenten diet, but while eating fish on Fridays during Lent is not a foreign concept to Latino Catholics, the region’s typical fish fry sides of french fries and hush puppies don’t jive with traditional Latino cuisine.
